The Verdict

Worth it for your honeymoon?

Tuludi is the camp for honeymooners who want the Natural Selection safari aesthetic — design-forward, funky, playful — without paying the eye-watering rates of the portfolio flagships. Set in the 500,000-acre Khwai Private Reserve between Moremi and Chobe, Tuludi's seven tented suites sit on raised decks under a canopy of ebony and leadwood trees, with swinging hanging beds on the verandahs, generous plunge pools, and interiors that feel more Cape-Town-loft than classic safari. Because Khwai Private Reserve is a private concession, the camp can offer off-road driving, walking and night drives that are not permitted in the adjacent national parks, and leopard sightings are some of the best in Botswana. It is a confident, modern honeymoon choice with genuine personality and a price point that actually leaves room for a longer stay.

Room Recommendation

Which room to book

Expert Pick
from $1,200–$3,000/night range

All seven suites are built to the same specification, so pick on position — request one of the suites at the end of the walkway for the most privacy and the clearest morning-light exposure through the trees. For a splurge, book the dedicated Treehouse sleep-out for one night — a private raised platform in the canopy, served dinner and breakfast by your butler, for a proper star-bed honeymoon memory.

Honest Assessment

What to know before you book

!

Tuludi is reached only by light aircraft from Maun with the standard 20 kg soft-sided duffel limit per guest — no hard cases, and flights can reschedule for weather.

!

Khwai Private Reserve game viewing shifts with the seasons — May to September is the dry, high-predator window, while October to April is greener and wetter with newborn wildlife and dramatic skies; both seasons work, they just deliver different experiences.

!

This is a malaria region — consult your travel doctor about prophylaxis, bring DEET and long sleeves for dusk and be prepared for normal bush-camp insect life, including tsetse flies on some parts of the reserve.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does Tuludi compare to the Wilderness and Great Plains flagships?

Natural Selection pitches Tuludi as design-led, playful and less formal than the older-school luxury camps, at a materially lower price point. You lose some of the polish and butler service of Mombo or Jao, but gain personality, a better-value rate and access to a private reserve that permits off-road and night activities.

Is the Khwai Private Reserve genuinely private?

Yes — it's a 500,000-acre concession that borders Moremi and Chobe. Because it is not a national park, vehicles can go off-road, do night drives and conduct walking safaris, which dramatically increases what you can see and photograph.

Is the Treehouse sleep-out safe?

Yes — it is a fully enclosed canvas-and-timber platform with a proper bed, mosquito netting, en-suite bathroom, radio contact with camp and an armed guide on call. It's an unforgettable honeymoon night and regularly booked out in peak season.

Are children allowed?

Children aged six and above are welcome, and Tuludi has a dedicated family suite. In practice the camp feels adult-led and couples dominate the guest mix, especially outside school holidays.

Does Tuludi pair well with other Natural Selection camps?

Yes — classic combinations include Hyena Pan in the same region for a more rustic, lower-priced supplement, or Jack's Camp in the Kalahari for a completely different habitat. The Natural Selection reservations team can design multi-camp loops.

What is included in the rate?

All meals, all drinks including house wines and spirits, all scheduled activities (game drives, mokoro where seasonal, walking safaris, night drives, photographic hide), laundry, park fees, Wi-Fi in the main area and scheduled light-aircraft transfers from Maun.
