Amanjena is in the Palmeraie, 15 minutes from the medina — it lacks La Mamounia's advantage of being at the medina gate. Couples who want to walk freely into the souk life of Marrakech need to take a taxi or hotel car each time.
Aman prices are among the highest in the world — the Maisons with private pools are exceptional but extremely expensive. Budget conscious couples will find better value at La Mamounia or Palais Namaskar.
The Palmeraie itself has become somewhat developed in recent years — the romantic palm grove landscape has been partially urbanised, which is visible on the approach road even if invisible once inside the hotel walls.
